Summer Playlist

Even though I don’t like beaches so much, I love the part where you sit on the sand and look at the sunset and feel the cool breeze brushing your skin. For some reason, this is that one song which reminds me of the beaches. Maybe because I discovered it on my trip to Goa or maybe it really is a beach baby kinda song.

You cannot do summer better than they do summer in this beautiful song by ‘The Bird and the Bees’. It’s their love for L.A. and I am a sucker for songs written for cities and if the city is to be as dreamy as this one, what can be better!?

From Chinese beats to Indian, the transformation just blew me away. Glass animals doing their usual thing in this one – being amazing that is.

Discovered the next one on Apple Music owing to my addiction to chill playlists. There is nothing better than cuddling up with a book and a cold beverage, sunlight filtering through the curtains with music like this playing in the background.

A little too angsty and rushed but I still love it since I have spent my afternoons binge watching this show.

Bruno Mars is the definition of easy listening combined with pep and upbeat-ness(?). His new song, for which the video is also great btw, is the new waiting-for-monsoon-but-loving-the-lazy-summers score!

This one because one Chainsmokers song is a must for the list and the concept of a waterbed was so new to me! Please don’t watch the video, it sucks. Posting the audio here!

It’s in the name and how can I possibly not include this weird and beautiful song I found on the treasure that is ‘TheSoundYouNeed’.

Fall Playlist

It has been quite some time since I uploaded a list of my favorite songs. Fall is a season which doesn’t really make an appearance in India but everything I have seen in popular culture seems beautiful beyond words. So here is my fall playlist which might or might not be about fall. 😛

  • A Lonely September: For those days when you are alone and restless. When I was younger I tried so hard to learn the chords for this song on a guitar without any success. 😛

  • We Don’t Talk Anymore: I am so addicted to this song. Not a day goes by when I don’t listen to this song at least five times. The video is amazing as well. There is so much happening, you have to watch it twice to see what all is really happening.

  • Faded (Not the Alan Walker one) – Have been listening to this song ever since the last three weeks surprisingly turned into an endless stream of club hopping and party sessions.

  • Nashe Si Chaddh Gayi: Not so much of a fan of Arijit Singh, but there are some good EDM beats coming out of Bollywood recently and also, the video of course is pretty great. So here it goes.

  • Cool Girl: Another one from the club hopping scenes. Tove Lo is at it again! 🙂

  • Kids: Gems like these are what make me fall in love with One Republic again and again, ever since I began listening to their first album!

  • Brothers in Arms: Once in the morning in office and you’re set for the day, from one of my favorite movies of all time. Is there a second part coming or not?

  • Take Me There: EDM from our own shores, Nucleya kills it again. Having attended it live, I feel a little too attached to this band. Fun fact: the featuring artist and I were college mates. Pretty epic I must say.

Playlist for the Week

I finally got the time to listen to some music after a long long time since I was relatively free because of my injured toe. So here is the list of the songs I am trippin’ on this week! Yaay! *drumroll*

  1. How Deep is Your Love? by Calvin Harris & Disciples – The protagonist is soooo hot! The comments on the official video are hilarious but I think the excessive hair touching makes sense. Go see the video to figure.
  2. Shut up and Dance by Walk the Moon – Such an adorable video, I was smiling all the while!
  3. Beautiful Boyz by CocoRosie – One of my favourite genres. I accidentally came across it in the suggestions and it’s really relaxing.
  4. Omen by Disclosure ft. Sam Smith – Another one that made it to my favourites after being addicted to Latch, also one of the background dancers looks like my classmate.
  5. Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars ft. Mark Ronson – Who cannot love this song. It is so Michael Jackson-ish. Why is Mark Ronson even there?
  6. Here by Alessia Cara – Because the lyrics go like:
“I’m sorry if I seem uninterested
Or I’m not listenin’ or I’m indifferent
Truly, I ain’t got no business here
But since my friends are here
I just came to kick it but really
I would rather be at home all by myself not in this room
With people who don’t even care about my well-being
    I don’t dance, don’t ask, I don’t need a boyfriend
So you can go back, please enjoy your party
I’ll be here, somewhere in the corner under clouds of marijuana
With this boy who’s hollering I can hardly hear…”
  7. Outside by Calvin Harris ft Ellie Goulding – After their last collaboration, this isn’t that good but if the comparison is left aside, it is worth listening!
